The University of Economics in Bratislava organized its 15th edition of the Training Days 2023 from November 20 to 21, 2023, with the subtitle Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP).
The main theme of the event were Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes. Like many other renowned universities, the University of Economics in Bratislava considers this area as an important part of its agenda. Boris Mattoš, Vice-rector for International Relations at the University of Economics in Bratislava, welcomed the participants with an opening speech.
Blended Intensive Programmes are short-term intensive programs that use innovative ways of learning and teaching, including the use of online cooperation. The intensive program aims to provide added value compared to existing courses or trainings offered by participating institutions.
By enabling new and more flexible mobility formats combining physical mobility with a virtual part, collaborative learning exchange and teamwork are facilitated.
The event was attended by representatives from partner universities - Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, Spain and SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Poland.
A rich interactive program was focused on Blended Intensive Programmes and discussions on the challenges and experiences these programmes bring. The biggest challenge in organizing Blended Intensive Programmes is the choice of stable and trustworthy partners who are ready to cooperate with each other for a long period. An example of good practice of BIPs at the University of Economics in Bratislava is the Central Europe Connect programme, mainly focused on the topics of company management and the economy of the participating states, respectively International Carousel Week, which offers education in management, transport, logistics and sustainability. Both programmes are enjoying great success, as evidenced by the upward trend in the number of enrolled students.
The Center for International Relations of the University of Economics in Bratislava prepared presentations on the topic of Blended Intensive Programmes and short-term mobilities under the leadership of Miroslava Darnadiová, head of the Centre. The contribution to the agenda of International Cooperation in this area was presented by Ildikó Némethová, Vice-dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Applied Languages, University of Economics in Bratislava.
The participants of the 15th edition of the Training Days 2023 presented the projects and activities of their universities in this area. The event provided a great opportunity to establish new partnerships within Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programs.
The Center for International Relations has opened registration for the 16th edition of the International Week, which will be held from 4 to 8 March 2024 and will focus on teacher mobility in order to support the internationalization of the University of Economics in Bratislava faculties.
